A website somebody is actually watching

Tired of offshore chat support and surprise renewal bills? I set your hosting up in your name, keep an eye on it and make your changes. You text me; it gets done.

The Care Plan

What you get every month

I keep it running so you never have to think about it.

Care Plan$99/month

or $990 a year, two months free

If it breaks, I fix it

If something on the site I built stops working, I fix it and you don’t get a bill. Trouble that comes from outside the site — a service you cancelled, a domain that lapsed somewhere else — I’ll quote before I touch it.

Watching it

I check that the site is up and that the contact form is really delivering, so leads don’t quietly disappear. Broken forms are the failure nobody notices for a month.

Domain, DNS and email

I keep the records that point your domain at your site and your mail where it belongs, watch your renewal date so nothing lapses (the domain stays in your account), and help when email starts landing in spam.

Eyes on Google

Every week I pull your numbers out of Google Search Console: how many people saw you, how many clicked, and what they actually searched for. If that slides after a change, I see it instead of guessing.

Hosting, in your name

Your site is served from a worldwide network with copies all over the country. I set it up in your account, keep the security certificate current and deploy every change you ask for.

I have a backup

Every change to your website is saved as its own version, so there’s always a copy to go back to. If an update ever goes wrong, I can put the site back the way it was, usually the same day.

You go first

Care plan clients jump the queue. If something is wrong, it goes to the front of the line ahead of everything else on my desk.

And an hour of changes

Up to an hour of text and photo changes each month. Send me what you want changed; most changes are done within one business day. Anything bigger gets a price before I start.

Your monthly hour

What an hour of changes looks like

  • Swap in new photos
  • Change your hours or post a holiday closing
  • Update a price or a service description
  • Add a new review or a staff member
  • Post a seasonal special or a notice

Quoted separately

  • Brand-new pages or sections (quoted up front)
  • A redesign
  • Logo and print work

Extra pages start at $150. You always get the price before I start.

Email

Email that actually arrives

A lot of small businesses have email that half works. Messages from the website land in spam, or the email address on the company vehicle doesn’t match the website.

Getting it right is mostly three records in your domain settings that tell other mail servers your messages are genuine. It’s tedious, it’s easy to get wrong, and I do it as part of the job.

Switching

Already have a site?

I can often take over hosting for a site someone else built. I’ll look at it first and tell you honestly whether to move it, fix it or leave it alone.

No hostages

Everything stays in your name

I’ve seen what happens when a business can’t get its own website back. That doesn’t happen here.

You register the domain

In your name, on your card. I’ll hold your hand through it if you’d like.

The accounts are yours

Hosting, Google Business Profile, email. Set up under your name, with your logins.

You grant me access

Then I do the heavy lifting inside them. You stay in charge, and you can take the keys back any time.

Leaving is easy

No lock-in contract and no ransom, just 30 days’ notice. You keep your files, and I remove my access.

Questions

Fair questions people ask

Do I have to be on the Care Plan?

It’s included in every proposal, starting the day your site goes live, because it’s what I recommend. You can cross it off. Your site runs fine without it, and the hosting is set up in your name either way. Without the plan there’s nobody watching it, fixes aren’t included, and work is billed at $125 an hour with a one-hour minimum. If you genuinely need nothing month to month, I’ll tell you so.

What if I need more than an hour in a month?

I don’t nickel-and-dime the small stuff. If something is bigger than the plan covers, I’ll tell you plainly and give you a price before I start. No surprise bills.

How fast do changes happen?

Most changes are done within one business day, often sooner. If something is broken or wrong, it goes to the front of the line.

Can I cancel?

Yes. It’s month to month: give me 30 days’ notice (a text counts), with no cancellation fee and no explanation needed. You keep the site, the domain and all the accounts, and I remove my access.

Who sends the emails from my contact form?

To keep launch simple, your new site’s form messages start out going through my email service, so they work for testing. Once your site is live, moving them to your own account is one of the first steps after launch, and I’ll walk you through it.

Where is the site actually hosted?

On a large, well-known network that keeps copies of your site in data centers all over the country, under an account in your name. What you’re paying me for is the setting up, the keeping an eye on it and the changes, not server space.

Ready for someone else to worry about the website?

Tell me what you’ve got now, even if it’s a mess. Let’s fix it.
